The Miki Berenyi Trio has released their first official single, “Vertigo,” via Bella Union, marking an exciting milestone as they gear up for their upcoming U.S. headline tour, supported by Lol Tolhurst x Budgie.
The trio, led by Miki Berenyi, renowned for her role as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the shoegaze and Britpop band Lush, as well as her more recent project, Piroshka. The MB3 includes Piroshka collaborators Kevin ‘Moose’ McKillop on guitar and Oliver Cherer on bass.
“Vertigo,” a track that has become a staple in the band’s live performances over the past year, is one of their earliest compositions together. Berenyi describes the song as a reflection on anxiety and the struggle to remain grounded. Despite the absence of a drummer, the trio has embraced programming to complement their signature guitar and melody-driven sound, reminiscent of their previous work.
The single is accompanied by a performance video directed by Sébastien Faits-Divers, filmed at the Consortium Museum in Dijon.
Following their U.S. tour, the Miki Berenyi Trio will perform in the UK in August and September, with a headline show at the Lexington in London. The full list of tour dates is available below.
