The Scottish capital is preparing for a sonic takeover this September. Following the massive announcement that prolific garage-psych-rocker Ty Segall would headline, Edinburgh Psych Fest has officially pulled back the curtain on nine new additions for 2026.
From viral math-rock sensations to local art-punk heroes, the latest wave of artists cements the festival’s reputation as the UK’s premier destination for the avant-garde and the fuzzy.
The Viral Arrival: Angine De Poitrine
The most electrifying addition is undoubtedly Quebec’s Angine De Poitrine. After their recent KEXP session went nuclear—racking up millions of views in mere weeks—the masked duo has become a global sensation.
Known for their surrealist costumes and hyper-technical “experimental math-rock,” they utilise microtonal instruments to create sounds that sit somewhere between a fever dream and a masterclass in music theory. Their inclusion makes Edinburgh one of the few places to catch their high-concept live show this year.
International Psych & Avant-Fonk
The lineup expansion brings a heavy dose of international flair:

- Automatic (LA): The three-piece brings their signature “avant-fonk” and motorik rhythms, fresh from the West Coast underground.
- The Belair Lip Bombs: Providing a melodic counterpoint with their driving Australian indie rock.
- GANS: Bringing the grit with industrial-rock textures.
- Renny Conti: Rounding out the touring acts with “psychedelic-cosmic-folk”.
Expanding the Scottish Contingent
True to its roots, the festival continues to champion the vibrant local scene. A quartet of Scottish acts has been added to the bill:
- Water Machine: Glasgow’s premier art-punk outfit.
- Tanzana: Delivering atmospheric, alt-dark-rock.
- Curiosity Shop: Edinburgh’s own alt-folk five-piece.
- Jill Lorean: A must-see for fans of psych-post-punk songwriting.

These acts join the previously announced heavyweights Stereolab, Model/Actriz, Gwenno, and GHOSTWOMAN.
Taking place across multiple iconic venues—including the labyrinthine Summerhall and the grand Queen’s Hall—the 2026 edition promises more than just music. Fans can expect immersive, trippy visuals and a celebration of all things psychedelic that pushes the boundaries of guitar and electronic music.
With the “Early Bird” tier already SOLD OUT, organisers are urging fans to act fast.
- General Admission: £54.50*
- U24s & NHS Discount: £43.50*
Tickets are available now at edinburghpsychfest.com. With more names still to be announced, this is shaping up to be the most ambitious year in the festival’s history.
