THE HORRORS RETURN WITH NEW LP ‘NIGHT LIFE’ AND UK DATES

The Horrors are back, and they’re entering a whole new chapter. Their sixth album, ‘Night Life’, is dropping on March 21st, and it sounds like the band is ready to show us a completely different side of themselves.

To kick things off, they’ve just released a brand-new single and video, ‘The Silence That Remains’, and announced a handful of intimate gigs this winter, including a stop at London’s ICA on November 28th. Tickets for the shows go on presale on Friday, November 4th at 10am.

Let’s talk about the new single. ‘The Silence That Remains’ feels like classic Horrors but with a fresh twist. It’s got this driving, hypnotic rhythm, layered with vocals from Faris Badwan and their new keyboardist Amelia Kidd. Faris described the song as a “3am insomnia walk through the city,” and that vibe is all over it—moody, introspective, but somehow still propulsive. It’s the perfect teaser for what’s to come on the album.

Speaking of the album, ‘Night Life’ is shaping up to be a big moment for The Horrors. As they approach their 20th anniversary, the band’s lineup has shifted a bit. Faris and bassist Rhys Webb are still at the core, but they’ve added Amelia Kidd (formerly Ninth Wave) and Jordan Cook (from Telegram) on drums, giving the band a new dynamic. While it’s the first album without all five original members, it’s clear they’ve poured their energy into creating something raw and instinctive. They started writing in Rhys’ London flat before heading to LA to work with Yves Rothman (who’s worked with Yves Tumor, among others), and Amelia contributed her parts remotely from Glasgow. It’s a global effort with their signature moody magic.

So, what’s ‘Night Life’ all about? It’s not about the buzz of pubs and clubs. It’s about what happens when the world quiets down—those thoughts and feelings that creep in during the late-night hours. Expect a mix of melancholy and euphoria, with the band pulling inspiration from their early days but experimenting in bold, new ways. If their past records like ‘Strange House’, ‘Skying’, or the industrial chaos of ‘Lout’ showed anything, it’s that The Horrors never stay in one place for long.

And the live shows? They’re kicking off a short run this winter, giving fans a chance to hear the new material in small, intimate venues. The London ICA date is already creating a buzz, so if you want to be there, snag those presale tickets when they drop.

After nearly two decades, The Horrors are still evolving, still experimenting, and still making some of the most innovative music out there. If ‘The Silence That Remains’ is any indication, ‘Night Life’ is going to be one hell of a ride.
