There’s quite a buzz about Nothing But Thieves at the moment. They’ve been touted as the successors to Muse’s crown as the kings of pop unfused rock. Without doubt the comparisons are lazy journalism and founded on nothing more than a similarity in the extraordinary vocal ranges of Matt Bellamy and Conor Mason. There the similarity ends.
Nothing But Thieves have built up a dedicated fanbase over the last decade and are now nearing headliner status at the big summer festivals, their most recent visit to Glasgow was as headliners on the King Tut’s stage at TRNSMT were they were in the rather unfortunate position of clashing with Royal Blood and the 1975 – nae luck!
No such worries tonight as everyone has come to see them and them alone.
